Detailed Description
Dred Scott is one of the most famous slaves in U.S. history, due to the court battle he fought to prove he was a free man. This fictionalized account of Scott's life starts at his birth in 1799, continues through his court trials in the 1850s, and ends with his death in 1858. This book switches from third person accounts to first person accounts, and provides an interesting look at the emotions and relationships created by slavery.
